Giuseppe Verdirame (Cl. '36) has been a member of the Bar of Reggio Calabria from 16.03.1964. He is counsel before the Supreme Court and before the "Consiglio di Stato". He was a member of the Council of the Bar of Reggio Calabria and chairman of the Lawyer Examinations Commission as well as member of the Commission on other occasions. He was also speaker at the Training Course for Lawyers practising in front of the Juvenile Court as well as at the training of the Justices of the Peace. Former professor of law and economics -now retired- which won a national contest chair in technical schools, during his long career he was Mayor of companies and member of the board of public companies; bankruptcy trustee and Deputy Magistrate Honorary, even as regent at the Municipal Court of Gallina (RC). He translated from english the work of Kaldor, Technical Progress and Economic Development, ed. Franco Angeli Publisher, and also graduated from the School of Economic Development in Rome after having obtained a scholarship set up by Unioncamere.
Antonio G. Verdirame (cl. '69) works as lawyer in both civil and criminal matters and collaborates with the University of Messina in the subject of "criminal procedure". He received his PhD in Criminal Sciences at the University of Catania with a thesis on evidence in penitentiary proceedings and, after that, he has been a researcher at the University of Messina for four years. He made pubblications on penitentiary proceedings and the criminal procedure in general and he has dealt with international criminal law. He was a member of the Council of the BPI-ICB (Barreau penal International – International criminal Bar). Currently, he is a member of the Criminal Justice Observatory of Reggio Calabria. In the professional field, its activity is not limited to criminal matters. He paid special attention on issues of protection of trademark and company law as well as public comptetitive bid law and public/private joint ventures.
